Aguamiel | Temezcal (Mexican Sweat Lodge) Ceremony

The word temazcal comes from Nahuatl temazcalli and means house of steam, in northern lands known as a sweat lodge. It is a sacred center of healing and purification through the use of hot stones and steam, an ancient medicine that has therapeutic properties physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The temazcal ceremony is one of symbolic rebirth in which we are asked to face ourselves and find the healing power within each of us. Inside the temazcal we invoke the medicine of the four elements as we pray, sing, and practice silence, inviting both personal and collective healing.

Many cultures have a tradition of using steam baths to purify, heal, and restore balance to the body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
